URGENT ACTION Needed - Oppose Medicaid Cuts
On Sunday evening, the House Budget Committee narrowly advanced a budget reconciliation measure. The vote was 17–16, with all Democrats opposed and four Freedom Caucus Republicans voting "present". The House Rules Committee is scheduled to markup the bill at 1:00 a.m. ETA is this Wednesday, May 21. There are reports that Medicaid's work requirement could be accelerated to the end of 2026 from the bill's current 2029, and cuts to other programs, ex. SNAP CA Fact Sheet could also be included in the Speaker’s deal.

Sample Message: Dear [Representative/Senator], I urge you to oppose any cuts to Medicaid. These cuts would devastate families who rely on Medicaid for early intervention, therapies, and developmental support. For decades, leaders from both parties have protected Medicaid because it works. It gives babies and toddlers—especially those with delays and disabilities—a real chance to grow, thrive, and reach their potential. It has been a lifeline for families. As someone who cares deeply about children and families, I ask you to stand firm against these harmful cuts. The long term cost of walking away now is too great for families and our communities. Thank you, [Your Name]
