Friday, February 26, 2021 | 12:00pm - 1:30pm | Zoom Event< br />with Courtney Palm, LMFT
Early Intervention (EI) progra ms are seeing a rise in sleep disorders affecting children in the 0-3 yr ca tegory but are struggling to find trained providers to help. Currently, the gap between behavioral and medical sleep intervention is contributing to l ess effective treatment plans for these children and confusion for their fa milies. The goal of this training is to bridge the gap between systemic (m edical) and developmental sleep conditions specific to children between the ages of 0-3 years. We will examine the five most common events related to sleep disruption in early childhood: gestational experience, attachment, nu trition, developmental disorders and trauma. Participants who attend this t raining will walk away with: assessment tools to evaluate sleep disruption, “whole child” perspective for treatment planning, knowledge of how certain developmental conditions influence sleep, and culturally-sensitive approac h to working with families on sleep.
